Getting startedWhat is Gimmie?
Gimmie is a gift discovery platform that starts with the person, occasion, and budget. It uses details a recipient chooses to share, including their Taste Intelligence, saved lists, interests, and Pinterest boards, to make gift discovery more personal.
Best practice: Start with two or three real details about the person instead of a product name.
Getting startedDo I need an account to search?
No. You can browse and search without an account. Signing in lets you save gifts, build people profiles, connect Pinterest, keep an occasion calendar, and return to your plans on supported devices.
Finding giftsHow do I get better gift results?
Describe who the gift is for, the occasion, their interests or personality, and your budget. A useful prompt is: a meaningful birthday gift for my dad who cooks outdoors, under $100.
Best practice: Add one emotional clue, such as comforting, playful, practical, nostalgic, or adventurous.
Finding giftsIs choosing a recipient required?
No. Recipient selection is optional. Choose a Gimmie profile when you want Taste Intelligence applied automatically, or describe the person directly in the search box.
Finding giftsWhat is Taste Intelligence?
Taste Intelligence is Gimmie's private picture of what a person tends to value and enjoy. It can include two personality archetypes, interests, preferred categories, saved items, Pinterest signals, and gifting history. People control what they connect and share.
ProfilesHow do I shop for someone from their profile?
Open their profile and choose Shop gifts for them. Gimmie carries their profile and archetypes into gift discovery so you do not have to re-enter what they like.
ProfilesWhat should I add to my own gift profile?
Complete your Taste Intelligence, connect Pinterest, keep a few useful public lists, and add interests that remain true over time. You can keep private lists and boards hidden.
Best practice: A small, current profile is more helpful than a large wishlist you no longer care about.
PinterestWhy connect Pinterest?
Pinterest boards often contain the most natural record of a person's taste. Gimmie can use approved boards to understand themes, materials, colors, hobbies, and objects, then turn those signals into shoppable gift ideas.
PinterestCan everyone see my Pinterest boards?
No. You choose which boards Gimmie may read and which, if any, appear publicly on your profile. Private analysis and public profile visibility are separate controls.
PinterestHow do I shop a Pinterest board?
Connect Pinterest from your profile, approve a board, then open that board and choose Shop board. Gimmie uses the board as a visual reference for gift discovery.
CalendarHow does the gift calendar work?
Add birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, and personal moments. Each occasion can include a person, budget, notes, and recurrence. When it is time, Find a gift creates a search from that occasion.
CalendarHow do I move dates from another calendar?
Export an .ics file from Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or Outlook, then use Import .ics in Gimmie. Gimmie reads event titles and dates on your device before saving the occasions you imported.
CalendarCan I add an occasion to Google Calendar or Outlook?
Yes. Each occasion has Google Calendar, Outlook, and iCal actions. Google and Outlook open a prefilled provider event; iCal downloads a standards-based event file that Apple Calendar and most calendar apps understand.
CalendarWhat should I put in a gift reminder?
Use the real date, an honest budget, and a note about the person rather than the gift you expect to buy. Begin looking two to four weeks before personal occasions and earlier for custom or shipped gifts.
Best practice: Plan the feeling first, then choose the product.
Saved and checkoutHow do saved lists work?
Save products into My Closet, Gift Ideas, For Me, or a list you create. You can rename lists, change their visibility, remove items, and use public lists to help people shop for you.
Saved and checkoutHow does checkout work across stores?
Gimmie keeps products organized in one cart, then uses the available merchant checkout path for each item. Review variants, quantities, shipping, taxes, returns, and the final merchant before paying.
Team giftingHow does corporate gifting work?
A company chooses a quarterly budget and team size, which creates a clear allowance per person. Employees can create private Gimmie profiles, choose gifts within policy, and include personal messages or photo greeting cards.
Team giftingCan teammates buy gifts for one another?
Yes. A team program can support self-directed allowances, peer gifting, manager recognition, and company occasions. Personal taste and delivery details remain under the employee's control.
Team giftingWhat should an administrator decide first?
Set the quarter budget, eligible participants, per-person allowance, rollover policy, approved occasions, and who can see spend. Then invite employees to complete private gift profiles before the first campaign.
Best practice: Give people choice inside a clear budget instead of sending one generic item to everyone.
Privacy and safetyWho can see my private taste data?
Public profile content is deliberately separate from private taste inputs. Lists and Pinterest boards only appear publicly when you choose to share them. Gimmie does not require mailbox access to use calendar files or provider add-event links.
Privacy and safetyHow should I handle a suspicious product or merchant?
Do not complete checkout. Verify the merchant, price, return policy, shipping timeline, and secure checkout domain. Report the item through support so it can be reviewed.
